Congratulations to Dr. Fann, Yu-Ning for receiving the Scholarship of the Institute of Pharmacology for her doctoral dissertation publication!

Dr. Fann’s dissertation focuses on sarcopenic obesity, uncovering that Dnaja3 haploinsufficiency dysregulates mitochondrial function and lipid metabolism, then leads to sarcopenic obesity and further demonstrates Ganoderma microsporum immunomodulatory protein, GMI emerges as a therapeutic regimen for sarcopenic obesity treatment through DNAJA3 activation. Her findings have been published in the Journal of Cachexia, Sarcopenia, and Muscle under the title “Regimen on Dnaja3 haploinsufficiency-mediated sarcopenic obesity with imbalanced mitochondrial homeostasis and lipid metabolism”, earning her the scholarship award from the Institute of Pharmacology on Fall semester 2024.
